The Family Literacy Program offers many services, including:
Adult Education Classes
The adult education classes can help you:
- Work on getting your GED
- Improve your reading and math skills
- Further your education or prepare yourself for college, a trade school, or that special job
- Receive small group, large group, and individual instruction
- Learn job and life skills.
School to Work Consultant provides you with the opportunity for:
- Career Exploration
- Pre-employment skills and job survival training
- Resume writing, cover letters, and a job applications.
PACT is a program which helps you to:
- Take the time to play with your child.
- Spend time together during lunch.
- Learn about how your child learns and grows.
- Spend time in your child's classroom.
Early Childhood Education gives:
- Licensed Child Care for infants and toddlers 5 months to 2 years.
- Preschool options available for children 3 to 5 years.
- Developmentally appropriate activities.
- Qualified, caring, and dedicated teachers.
Social services offers you:
- A Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP).
- Support Services once employed.
- Home visits to learn about activities for you and your child to complete together when you're home from school or work.
In order to qualify you must:
- Be a resident of Montgomery County.
- Be at least 18 years or older.
- Have at least one adult in the household needing to improve basic reading skills or needing to earn a GED.
- Have one child in the household that is seven years old or younger.
